Sarah Heijerman, class of 2006
“Every teacher at HCS has played a big role in my walk with Christ. Not only were they exceptional educators, but I know they personally prayed for each and every one of their students. To have teachers that care that much about our personal relationships with Christ means a lot to me. Now that I am at the University of Sioux Falls, the decisions that I make are based on what I was taught at HCS. My years spent at the Hollandale Christian School have helped me become the individual I am today.”
Samuel Thompson, class of 2011
“I would like to start off by thanking all the teachers that had supported me through my 8 years at HCS. Without these great individuals, I would not be the person I am today. Everyday, the teachers would push me to be the best I could be; physically, mentally and spiritually. Hollandale was the foundation and the building blocks for the rest of my life. The experience brought me closer to God every day through the lessons and activities.”
Todd Lange, AL High School teacher
“Over many years of working at Albert Lea High School I have had the great good fortune to teach and coach many students coming to our school from Hollandale Christian School. When I was the girls’ soccer coach I had a small, amazing group of young ladies from Hollandale who, in addition to being excellent athletes and competitors, played with integrity and sportsmanship. They were leaders both on the field and in the school. The students who come to my classes with Hollandale experience are well prepared. They exhibit a great work ethic and a love of learning. They are consistently represented in our school’s honor rolls and in our most challenging courses. It is clear to me that Hollandale Christian School takes education seriously and produces great results.”
Coleen Olmsted, HCS Kindergarten teacher
“It is such a privilege to be a teacher at HCS. I have taught in many schools prior to HCS. I have found HCS to be a community of love and support. I am so blessed to work with the students in my class. We are learning about God and growing in our faith, as well as the all of the academic areas. The School Board has offered unwavering support. The staff is always caring and encouraging. I am truly grateful to work with such supportive families as we join together to provide the best schooling experience possible. I am so thankful to be a part of the wonderful community of HCS!”
Camille Osmonson, HCS parent
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 ESV
It is my responsibility as a parent to lead my child to Jesus so that she may accept Him as her Lord and Savior so that she may have eternal life. That is a HUGE responsibility and I know that I cannot do it alone. Being a part of a church that has blessed us by being committed to helping teach the word of the Lord is a step in the right direction, but is it enough? My daughter spends approximately 1300 hours in school every year. Our government has declared that there be a separation between church and state and therefore she cannot get lessons in a public school to help her learn about God and his creation and how he sent his son Jesus to teach us how we should live our lives so that we can have eternal life. Those 1300 hours are precious hours that can be used to teach my daughter “the way she should go”. So what is a parent to do?
The answer to this question came to me when I attended Hollandale Christian School’s spring play. Send her to a Christian school that is committed to infusing Biblical Truth in every subject and throughout the school culture. Not just any Christian school, but one that has high academic standards, small class sizes, a strong community, and will help lead my child to have a closer relationship with Jesus Christ in every aspect of her daily life. I have found that at Hollandale Christian School. Sending my child to this school has been an answer to prayer! I now have a school community, a church community along with my own family that will help guide my daughter to live a life for Christ so that when she goes out into the world she has a strong foundation and a strong support system to come back to anytime.
Thank you Hollandale Christian School for being committed to students and families and providing the opportunity to openly be a Christian in school. In this day in age I cannot afford to not send my daughter to a Christian school. It is a minimal price to pay for the guidance my young child needs to build the character that will guide her through her life. There are 6570 days from birth – 18 years and about 1656 of those can be spent at Hollandale Christian School. Those are precious and valuable days that can be used to “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 ESV.
Please consider joining our Hollandale Christian School Family! You won’t regret it!
